Even though it’s not part of the bigger Arrowverse, ‘Superman & Lois’ stands out as the CW’s top superhero show thanks to its well-written storylines. The series faced its share of challenges, especially last year when Nexstar took over CW and changes were on the horizon. While many shows were canceled during the restructuring, ‘Superman & Lois’ managed to survive. However, just before the season 3 finale, news broke that the show would continue under new leadership, albeit with some budget cuts.

These cuts led to some main cast members being let go, fewer writers, and a reduction in the number of episodes compared to previous seasons. Fans breathed a sigh of relief knowing their favorite superhero show was still alive, but their happiness was short-lived. A few months later, it was announced that season 4 would be the show’s final season. Despite having a loyal fanbase, the show’s high CGI costs couldn’t be justified by its viewership numbers. Additionally, a WB executive revealed that one reason for the cancellation was the studio’s reluctance to have two competing Superman projects. Even though the ‘Superman & Lois’ community is small, it still poses a risk to Gunn’s upcoming ‘Superman’ movie set to release in 2025.

After filming for several weeks, Tyler Hoechlin posted updates and cool behind-the-scenes shots of the Daily Planet Office on his personal Instagram account.

Based on Tyler’s update, it’s likely that filming will continue for another five weeks, aligning with the scheduled release date for the fourth season of ‘Superman & Lois.’ The new season is slated to premiere on CW in Fall 2024, featuring a total of 10 episodes.
