Unexpected Fan Theory Connects Doctor Doom and Monica Rambeau in Their Quest to Save Reality

It’s been some time since the announcement of Robert Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom. Currently, there are no clear details about his character, leading to various theories circulating online about his potential incorporation.

The latest theory shared on X by user Comicodigy cleverly ties together the ending of The Marvels, Doctor Doom, and Monica Rambeau, while also connecting to the ‘Time Runs Out’ storyline, which is a strong candidate for a ‘Doomsday’ adaptation.

The ending of The Marvels sees Monica Rambeau accidentally trapped in a different reality while trying to seal a rift caused by the Universal Neural Teleportation Network. To close the rift, she had to enter it from the other side.

After completing this challenging task, Rambeau awakens in X-Mansion, where she is confronted by an alternate version of her mother, Maria Rambeau, and the Beast.

We’ve speculated that this reality is likely Earth-838, where the Scarlet Witch killed several members of the Illuminati, as Maria Rambeau survived that attack, and we know that the X-Men exist in that universe.

However, Comicodigy proposed an alternative theory, suggesting that Rambeau inadvertently ended up in the same universe as Downey’s Doctor Doom. Her involvement with the Universal Neural Teleportation Network and the resulting rift may have created an Incursion linked to his reality.

In a bid to save his universe from collapsing, Doctor Doom could initiate Doomsday, ultimately leading to Secret Wars and the creation of Battleworld.

In the comics, during the event, Doctor Doom harnesses the power of the Beyonder to “save” reality from Incursions threatening to destroy both Earth-616 and the Ultimate Universe.

Doom ultimately succeeds, reconstructing reality from remnants of various other universes and naming it Battleworld, marking the beginning of the Secret Wars storyline.

Several theories suggest that Doom might try to replicate this in the MCU, potentially explaining how the Fantastic Four and X-Men could find their way to Earth-616.
