Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, or SSU, is growing bigger, and it all started with the movie ‘Venom’ in 2018. This movie is getting another sequel in 2024, and Tom Hardy is coming back to play the main character. Last summer, which was expected to be big for superhero movies, got messed up by the longest actors’ strike in Hollywood history, lasting 118 days.

Both the SSU and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) had to stop everything, even though they had a lot of movies and shows they wanted to make. But soon after the strike was over, they made some deals, and soon after, it was announced that ‘Venom 3’ would resume production. The release date was pushed back, and it was set to come out on November 8, 2024. We already told you about Tom Hardy calling the movie ‘The Last Dance,’ and it turns out that’s the actual title of the movie.

The Last dance – thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew- good friends and family – we’ve come a long way – it’s been and continues to be a lot of fun this journey there’s always hard turns to burn when we work but doesn’t feel as hard when you love what you do and when you know you have great material and the support at all sides, of a great team.

On Tuesday, Sony announced that the movie’s title is ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ and the release date has moved up from November 8 to October 25 this year.

Even though this might be the final chapter for Venom in the SSU, the Symbiote has officially entered the MCU. This happened thanks to the mid-credits scenes of ‘Let There Be Carnage,’ where we see a piece of the Venom symbiote left behind in the MCU – and it starts to stir.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe is gearing up for a packed 2024. It kicked off with ‘Madame Web’ released on February 14, 2023, and this summer, fans can anticipate the much-awaited ‘Kraven the Hunter’ movie, hitting theaters on August 30, 2024.
