‘Vision Quest’ to Feature Human-Like AI Characters to Cut VFX Costs and Speed Up Release According to Rumors

When WandaVision was first released, Marvel announced that two spin-offs were in development, one centered on Agatha Harkness and the other on White Vision. Now, several months after the release of Agatha All Along, fans are gearing up for the final chapter in this unofficial trilogy: Vision Quest.

Details about Vision Quest remain scarce, but what we do know is that the series will follow White Vision on his journey after the events of WandaVision and will feature the return of Ultron in some capacity. Some recent rumors also claim that the show will feature Jocasta, Ultron’s Bride.

Actor Paul Bettany recently revealed that he’s been watching Agatha All Along as part of his preparation for returning to the role, strongly hinting that the two shows are connected in meaningful ways.

Now, Daniel Richtman notable industry insider, shared yet another detail regarding the show.

Richtman said that in the Vision Quest series, the production is trying to save money on special effects. To do that, they’re going to have the robot or AI characters look like regular humans most of the time instead of using a lot of computer effects to make them look robotic. Because of this choice, they can finish the show faster and are hoping to release it as early as next year.

This information was published on Richtman’s Patreon account.

Filming for Vision Quest started on March 14, 2025, at Pinewood Studios in London. The working title during filming was Tin Man. The directors include Terry Matalas, Laura Byrne, Vincenzo Natali, and Samira Monteiro.

The cinematographers are Christopher Ross and Neville Kidd. Filming was supposed to begin in late 2024 but ended up starting a bit later. Amelia Allwarden is editing the show. She also worked on Echo (2024).

Vision Quest is planned to come out on Disney+ in 2026. It will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
