What? Acier?! You’re probably asking yourselves how a frail, gentle girl like Acier could be Mereleona’s rival, knowing that Mereleona was one of the fiercest fighters in the story – but it is true.

Namely, Acier Silva was Mereleona’s first mentor. It was Acier who made Mereleona into the beast that she is. Why? Despite Acier using Steel Magic, which is weak to Mereleona’s fire-based magic, Acier would always defeats Mereleona. In fact, Acier Silva is the only known character in the series whom Mereleona never defeated, thus, effectively making her her rival.

It has to be said that Acier and Mereleona never had a bad relationship. The two of them respected each other greatly, and Acier was always a good mentor to Mereleona, which can be seen by the fact that Mereleona became such a good fighter. In the end, it was Acier’s skill that made her Mereleona’s rival in that aspect.

Acier was simply too skilled for Mereleona’s brute strength; no matter how much Mereleona tried, she could not defeat Acier. But this was a great thing, as it made Mereleona try more and more and train more and more, and it helped make Mereleona into the fighter that she is.

Acier Silva has a very sad story in the series

She was also Mereoleona Vermillion’s teacher in her youth; as we’ve said, even though Mereoleona had the elemental advantage over her, she never managed to defeat Acier.

Years later, Acier married and had three children, Nozel, Nebra, and Solid. When her fourth and last daughter Noelle was a few days away, Acier talked with her eldest son Nozel, telling him that he was the only one who inherited her Steel Magic and would have to use it to protect his siblings.

After Noelle’s birth, Acier fought against Vanica Zogratis and Megicula, which is when she received a curse from the latter.

In the middle of the fight, Vanica threatened Nozel and Noelle with death for interrupting them, which motivated Acier to increase his forces and continue the fight causing a mortal wound to Vanica, which he took advantage of and cursed Acier, and then Vanica fled. Shortly after her battle with Vanica, Acier succumbed to the curse’s effects and died. To protect the family from the side effects of the demonic curse, she was led to believe that the birth of Noelle caused her death.
