One of the upcoming projects in the MCU that fans were often talking about was ‘Wonder Man.‘ It’s a Hollywood satire about Williams, who becomes a superhero after being an actor in Tinseltown.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will play Simon Williams (Wonder Man), with Ben Kingsley, Demetrius Grosse, and Ed Harris also starring. Recently, there were strong rumors about ‘Wonder Man’ being canceled, especially since it spent a long time in development with little news.

‘Wonder Man’ filming began in January 2024, but it faced delays due to strikes. This isn’t unexpected, as many other projects were also affected by delays or are undergoing reworks since the strikes ended. Unfortunately, just a few days into filming, a tragic accident resulted in the loss of a set worker’s life. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Wonder Man’ is in post-production. Destin Cretton has moved on to another upcoming MCU project, rumored to be in early development, ‘Shang Chi 2.’

Not much is known about ‘Wonder Man’ and its plot, but we do have some details. The show will center around Simon Williams, a character from the comics. Simon inherits his father’s munitions factory but faces financial struggles due to competition with Tony Stark. At his brother’s urging, he attempts embezzlement but is caught. Baron Zemo then coerces him to infiltrate the Avengers as Wonder Man. Initially planning to betray them, he ultimately sacrifices himself to save them. Presumed dead, his brother becomes the Grim Reaper, seeking revenge. Wonder Man also has a romantic connection to the Scarlet Witch.
