Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with the Mouth was moved to Disney in the middle of his franchise. Two Deadpool films were made while the character was still under Fox, but then Disney brought all characters back to Marvel Studios.
So, what’s next for him? Well, fans can sleep peacefully because it was announced that Ryan Reynolds will keep playing the controversial antihero, and Marvel Boss Kevin Feige announced that Reynolds is overlooking the development of the script for Deadpool 3.
It was previously announced that, despite being under Disney (usually known for its family-friendly content), Deadpool will keep his specific R rating, but how will all that be incorporated into Disney’s MCU, we don’t know. But hey, it’s Deadpool, nothing is impossible for him.

Although Reynolds will eventually return, there’s still question about other characters that appeared in previous Deadpool films. One of them, Zazie Beetz‘s Domino, debuted in Deadpool 2 and was well received by fans. Now, Beetz opened up about the possible return for comicbook.com:
“I would love to revisit Domino. I would love to do a Deadpool 3, 4, 5, 7, 19. I’ve also wanted to be like, ‘Maybe I could just do my own origin story.’ I feel honored to have been able to depict her on screen and to have played with her, as her. I love her and so I would be more than happy to revisit her on camera. And I think I will. If Disney doesn’t make it happen, I’ll make it happen.”
Well, we couldn’t agree more. There’s still plenty of characters from Deadpool films who should make a return in a third move, whenever it happens. Stefan Kapičić’s Colossus, Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand’s Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Karan Soni‘s Dopinder, and, the one that would be most interesting from MCU’s perspective, Josh Brolin’s Than… I mean, Cable.
Deadpool 3 is definitely on the way, we just don’t know how far it is. There’s still no release date, but given everything that Marvel is preparing, they’re probably saving it for Phase 5.
