‘One Piece’: Who Is Misery, Big Mom’s New Powerful Homie, and How Strong Is She?
Big Mom, full name Charlotte Linlin, was one of the Four Emperors from the manga One Piece. She is the captain of the Big Mom Pirates and was one of the Four Emperors ruling over the New World, as their only female member at the time. Big Mom was a truly powerful character, and among her many powers and abilities was her ability to create homies that she could use for various purposes, including battle. And while we knew about Prometheus, Napoleon, and Zeus, who Hera replaced at one point, we have to say that the recent episode of One Piece introduced a completely new homie of hers – Misery. In this article, we are going to tell you everything you need to know about Misery.
Misery is a new homie created by Big Mom during her battle with Eustass Kid and Trafalgar D. Water Law in Wano Country. She is actually the Maser Saber combination of Prometheus, Hera, and Napoleon, her three other homies (after Hera replaced Zeus), and is thus a combination of her technique and their powers. She was larger and more powerful than Big Mom’s other homies, but she was nevertheless easily cut in half by Law and thus destroyed, although it is unknown whether it was permanent.
The rest of this article will focus on Misery and her role in the One Piece manga and the most recent anime series episode. We will give you all the details you need to know about Misery’s arrival in the series, her relationship with Big Mom’s other homies, and everything else you’ll need to understand what actually happened to this powerful homie in the series. The article is going to contain spoilers, so we have to warn you beforehand.
Misery was created as the zenith of Big Mom’s homie abilities, but she failed miserably in the end
In order to completely understand Misery’s genesis, we have to go back to the fight between Eustass Kid, Trafalgar D. Water Law, and Big Mom. After taking some significant damage from Kid and Law, Big Mom assembles Napoleon, Hera, and Prometheus into a sword that is engulfed in flame and lightning and uses it to slice through her metal bull, but Kid says it is useless. Big Mom is back in full power.
The Empress chuckles as she states that they are useless and must give up their individual goals. Kid leaps at Big Mom as this is happening, handing her a magnetic pole while setting the other one on a wall. The pirate holds fast to the wall and turns to face the wall to use it as a shield when Kid comes around to charge her with his mechanical bull.
Kid is frightened, and the Empress swiftly summons a new female homie formed of flames and lightning from her sword to attack the enemy. This is – Misery. Misery was created by a combination of Big Mom’s Maser Saber Technique and the united powers of Hera, Napoleon, and Prometheus, her three main homies.
She is gigantic in size and is more powerful, but she distinctively reminds everyone of Lady Caramel, the vile child trafficker whom Big Mom probably ate, although unknowingly, which is why she still wonders about her fate even to this day.
Misery is an exceptionally loyal homie. All the homies were loyal to Big Mom (even Zeus, but this is a more complex story), but Misery’s loyalty is on a completely different level, which is why she is so special. Her loyalty was also seen when she was ready to happily destroy her enemies – in this case, Law and Kid – with a wicked smile on her face.
As for her powers and abilities remain unknown, but we can give you a rough estimate of some aspects. Due to her size, she was physically imposing and could actually destroy a whole building; she was a lot bigger than Big Mom herself, and we know that Big Mom has the size of a giant. As for her other powers, she can use fire and lightning simultaneously, making her exceptionally dangerous as an opponent.
It is only understandable that Misery is so powerful, really, seeing how she was created. Namely, her powers are a combination of three homies – Prometheus, Napoleon, and Hera – so it makes sense that she can utilize their powers and abilities, a combination at least. This also makes sense from the standpoint that, as was revealed, Hera could synchronize with the other homies better than Zeus, for example, which probably made the combination so stable and powerful.
On top of that, you must add that Big Mom used her Maser Saber attack to create Misery. The attack is a powerful combined attack by the three homies (Hera, Prometheus, and Napoleon), and the three of them actually form a powerful blade made out of energy that Big Mom can utilize while using Napoleon.
So, Big Mom actually combined this attack, which was a combination in the first place, and the powers of the three of them, and that is how Misery came to be. So, now that you know that, we are going to tell you what happened to Misery.
So, what happened soon after Misery’s debut? While she is still on the ground, Law levitates a tower above her, uses it to stomp her to the ground, and then stabs her in the chest with his sword. Law holds onto the blade tightly and continues to stretch it; as a result, he releases a devastating shockwave that severely harms the Empress. Linlin repeatedly smacks him with his Haki-clad hands.
Despite the severe damage, Big Mom unleashes Misery against Law, necessitating Kid’s assistance. Kid reiterates that he does not accept commands and then launches a giant electromagnetic cannon, whose potent beam of energy strikes the adversary directly and cuts it in half.
This was not the end for Big Mom, but it was the end for Misery. We don’t know if she is permanently gone, but we also don’t know what happened to Big Mom, so we’ll have to wait a bit to see.
