10 Best Anime Like ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange’ Ranked by MyAnimeList Score
Fans of Japanese animation have something to look forward to this Fall since much content is looming on the horizon. One of them is an action drama anime series ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange,’ which is directly adapted from the manga series ‘Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange,’ which is a sequel to the original manga series – ‘Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company M.’ The upcoming series will follow the story of three young firefighters, Toake Daigo, Onoda Shin, and Nakamura Yuki, who are trying to become members of the elite firefighter corps known as Orange.

Why it’s like ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange’: Besides obviously similar themes and firefighters, ‘Fire Force’ is also a shōnen anime where the main protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, enters the Special Fire Force to help save the world. It’s a really interesting watch before the release of the ‘Firefighter Daigo’ series.

What it’s about: Atsushi Nakajima’s orphanage is plagued by the mysterious, mystical tiger that causes the young boy to be expelled from the institution, leaving him hungry and homeless. However, Atsushi’s fate changes when he rescues a strange man from drowning, Osamu Dazai, a suicide enthusiast and supernatural detective investigating the mystery behind the mystical tiger. The duo joins forces to find out the truth.
Why it’s like ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange’: One would say this anime and its characters remind us of Sherlock Holmes with its strangeness and supernatural elements, but ‘Bongou Stray Dogs’ is also similar to ‘Firefighter Daigo.’ Heavy themes, adult cast, and their struggles of real life combined with supernatural powers are quite similar to our shōnen anime.
7. ‘Psycho-Pass’ (2012-2013)

What it’s about: This futuristic, cyberpunk anime follows Akane Tsunemori, a young woman with an honest desire to uphold justice. However, after she starts working with her older colleague, Shinya Kougami, Akane realizes that Sibyl System’s judgment of people’s Psycho-Pass is extremely flawed. This is where the team needs to ‘cleanse’ the government from corruption and carry out the right justice.
Why it’s like ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange’: Although it has fantasy elements, the serious and political themes are similar to our firefighter anime.

This scenario repeats itself, but this time, Dr. Tenma refuses to switch out the patients and saves a young boy, Johan Liebert, instead of the town’s mayor. Despite a good decision, Dr. Tenma doesn’t realize that the boy whom he saved his life will become a monster.
Why it’s like ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange’: This is a bit more mature anime, but it does have an interesting premise that doesn’t include the fantasy elements – it’s a thriller and a drama, just like ‘Firefighter Daigo’ in some aspects.

Why it’s like ‘Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange’: Even though ‘Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood’ is a fantasy action drama, it does have similarities with ‘Firefighter Daigo’ and the way characters are motivated for their goal. It’s also a shōnen anime.
