Metallic Rouge is set in a future in which people have colonized Mars and have established a civilization there. It follows a young girl called Rouge Redstar and her friend Naomi Orthmann, who work together against a group of foes known as the Immortal Nine. It is a refreshing new sci-fi anime series, and while it has yet to gain momentum, we have decided to tell you a bit about some elements of the series’ lore. In this article, you are going to find out about an organization that seems to be important but is still a mysterious one, and that is why we are going to explain everything you need to know. The topic article is going to be Aletheia.

  • Article Breakdown:
  • In the lore of Metallic Rouge, Aletheia is the name of an organization that oversees the Neans in the series and is in charge of their lives and their functioning.
  • Based on what was explained in the series, Aletheia seems to have a lot of power when the Neans are concerned, as Noid 262 commented on their typical actions.
  • As of the time of writing, it is unclear what Aletheia’s goals are and whether they are related to anyone, but they will most definitely be a major player in the series.

Aletheia is the organization responsible for overseeing Neans

The first episode of Metallic Rouge was truly a handful. While it did introduce us to the lore of the series, it also provided us with a lot of concepts, as well as characters; we have to be honest, at times, it was quite difficult to follow all the new information that the series presented. And while the story calmed itself down a bit in the subsequent episodes, we still got more information about the lore, especially the groups present in the series. One of these groups is Aletheia and this article will cover all that we know about this group.

Before we actually explain what Aletheia is, we have to tell you a bit about the Neans, who are a major group in Metallic Rouge, and since they are related to Aletheia, we need to explain who they are and why they are so relevant.

Neans are the second main group in the series, alongside humans, and from what we can determine, they are androids or something very similar (they are a cross between organic and machine lifeforms). They have unique symbols on their bodies and typically have darker (greyish) skin than other humans, but otherwise, they appear and act like regular people. Other than that, they act like people, and although though they are conscious, they are really under human authority; they work for them, cannot rebel against them, and appear to lack free will, thus they must obey their commands.

Although humans can utilize them for combat, as they have during the Great War, they are not allowed to injure humans due to the Asimov Code. Furthermore, they are required to consume Nectar on a daily basis. For Neans, Nectar is like fuel; without it, they will eventually shut down and die, and then they will be disposed of like garbage.

RELATED:

This is the story of the Neans, so how does Aletheia come into it? Well, Aletheia was first mentioned in Episode 2 during a conversation between Investigator Ash and Noid 262, his Nean assistant. They were discussing the death of Dr. Roy Junghardt, and Ash told Noid that Noid that Aletheia was covering up the two murders they were investigating, raising suspicion that Neans were involved. This is important because Neans shouldn’t be able to hurt humans, and if they are really involved in the death of Dr. Roy Junghardt – then it is a problem that Aletheia needs to take care of. On the other hand, it is possible that the victim was also a Nean, which would also cause problems.

Aletheia only gets involved when Neans are in question, which is what Ash confirmed in the conversation. They seem to have a lot of power over the Neans, but at this point in the story, it is unknown whether Aletheia has some ulterior motives or whether they’re just a normal regulatory agency. Their actions do seem to be somewhat secretive, but it remains to be seen how Aletheia actually works, who the members of this organization are, and what their ultimate goal is. Based on the hints we’ve received, it is more than likely that Aletheia will become a major player as the series progresses.
