‘The Penguin’ Official Teaser Released, Giving Us a Glimpse of Action & Update on Release Date

Many DC projects are in the works, with attention mainly on Gunn’s DCU and his upcoming ‘Creature Commandos’ & ‘Superman’. But let’s not forget about Elseworlds, where ‘The Batman’ film series and other projects belong. One such project is ‘The Penguin’ live-action series.

Today, the first official teaser for the show was released, featuring Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot / Penguin. The teaser also confirmed that the show will premiere this fall. ‘The Penguin’ picks up a week after the events of ‘The Batman’, delving into his rise to power in Gotham City’s criminal underworld. The series will consist of eight episodes. Check out the teaser below:

‘The Penguin’ is overseen by Lauren LeFranc, who worked on ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, with Matt Reeves, known for ‘The Batman,’ also serving as an executive producer through his company 6th & Idaho. Craig Zobel, recognized for ‘Mare of Easttown,’ directs the first three episodes. Additional executive producers include Farrell, Dylan Clark, Daniel Pipski, and Bill Carraro, with Ravi Crohn as co-executive producer. Production began in March 2023, paused briefly in June due to strikes, and resumed shooting after Thanksgiving.

In the upcoming series, Cristin Milioti plays Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Carmine, who vies with Cobblepot for control of Gotham’s crime scene. Clancy Brown stars as Salvatore Maroni, a mob boss, while Michael Zegen takes on the role of Alberto Falcone, Carmine’s son. Other cast members with undisclosed roles include Rhenzy Feliz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell. Got something to share? Drop a comment below!
