Rumors: Captain Carter Set to Appear in a Significant Live-Action MCU Project
Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter has appeared in several Marvel projects. Most recently, she portrayed an alternative Captain America in ‘What If…?’ Season 2, featuring prominently in many episodes. Additionally, she appeared in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ as an Avenger and a founding member of the Illuminati. In 2018, she fought in the Infinity War and contributed to defeating Thanos in the Battle of Titan. Subsequently, she supported the decision to execute Doctor Strange for his use of the Darkhold, leading to a multiversal incursion.
Captain Carter also headlined her own successful show before the Disney+ era, titled ‘Agent Carter.’ In a recent Q&A session, Alex Perez confirmed that Captain Carter remains a significant part of the Marvel Multiverse. She is set to return in ‘What If…?’ Season 3 and reportedly will have a role in ‘Secret Wars,’ an upcoming Avengers project.
Captain Carter will be back in What If…? season 3, and will also be one of the characters in play for Secret Wars.
Recently, there have been reports indicating that ‘Agent Carter’ might become part of the official MCU timeline, making the project canon. As of now, this change is only visible on the Brazilian Disney+ pages, while the US timeline still only shows one-shots. It’s not unexpected for ‘Agent Carter’ to be considered canon, given that it was a project Kevin Feige was involved in and supported.
Hayley Elizabeth Atwell has portrayed Peggy Carter in various Marvel productions, so it’s not surprising that she will return to reprise her role, either through voice acting or live-action.
