New Plot Details for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Explain Why the TVA Needs Him and the Movie’s Timeline

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is currently the summer’s most anticipated movie, with early projections suggesting it could break box office records.

Two trailers have already been released, showcasing numerous cameos and variants. However, details about the plot remain sparse. What we do know is that the TVA kidnaps Deadpool, and he must convince Wolverine to help save the current reality.

Total Film, in their upcoming issue covering the movie, reveals that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is set six years after the events of ‘Deadpool 2.’ At the end of ‘Deadpool 2,’ Wade uses Cable’s time-traveling device to correct several aspects of his timeline. His primary fix involves preventing Vanessa’s death, a pivotal event that drove much of the sequel’s plot.

Now, six years later, Vanessa has moved on and has a new boyfriend, while Deadpool himself is struggling as a used car salesman. To make ends meet, he resorts to selling Blind Al’s heart medication on the side to earn extra money for rent.

From the trailer, it’s clear that Deadpool will be abducted during his birthday party, and Total Film revealed that the TVA needs him to protect the sacred timeline.

In the second trailer, we also learned that Wolverine’s actions resulted in the destruction of his own timeline, leading to widespread disdain wherever he goes. It remains unclear if this cataclysmic event ties into Cassandra Nova and the demise of the X-Men, but all signs point in that direction.
