On Friday, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ unveiled its first teaser trailer, featuring Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross, who transforms into Red Hulk near the end—a prominent adversary of the Jade Giant.

The teaser trailer has faced several criticisms, beginning with Sam Wilson taking on the mantle of Captain America and the quality of Red Hulk’s CGI. Additionally, fans believe that Red Hulk is wasted as a villain in a ‘Captain America’ movie.

There are several reasons for this sentiment. First, Red Hulk is primarily a Hulk villain, and many fans have pointed out that Sam Wilson seems to be taking on more than one Hulk adversary in the movie, with The Leader also appearing. Red Hulk was likely included because there are no current plans for a standalone Hulk movie, as Mark Ruffalo confirmed several months ago.

Additionally, a compelling theory suggests that Red Hulk’s presence might be a catalyst for turning the MCU’s Hulk back into the Savage Hulk, potentially setting the stage for a World War Hulk storyline.

The second objection fans have is that Sam Wilson isn’t a superhuman with the Super Soldier Serum. They struggle to understand how he could possibly defeat an enemy potentially stronger than the Hulk.

However, this can be addressed with plot armor. Captain America seemingly stood no chance against Thanos, yet we’ve seen him fight the Mad Titan several times. Additionally, while Red Hulk has the potential to be stronger than Hulk depending on his anger, he also has weaknesses that the regular Hulk does not. Red Hulk overheats as he gets angrier, meaning Captain America would need to make him angry enough to defeat him. Furthermore, Red Hulk is vulnerable to sharp weapons.

Now, let’s look at the reactions:
