Netflix Opens the Gates to Nevermore Academy With Haunting Teaser & New Principal: “Like an empty grave, applications are now open”
Nevermore Academy is back, and it’s weirder and wilder than ever. The spooky school made famous in Netflix’s hit series Wednesday is once again opening its doors to Outcasts of all kinds. That’s right, applications are now open. If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit in, this might just be the school you’ve been waiting for.
Located in Vermont, not far from the town of Jericho, Nevermore Academy is a place where Outcasts, like Werewolves, Vampires, Sirens, Gorgons, and even DaVincis, can thrive.
The academy has been around for more than 200 years, standing strong as a place where students don’t hide from the “normie” world—they rise above it.
As Netflix revealed, the second season of Wednesday is coming this August, and things are changing at Nevermore. A new principal is stepping in: Barry Dort, played by legendary actor Steve Buscemi. He’s taking over after the mysterious end of Principal Larissa Weems (rest in peace). You can even watch Principal Dort deliver a welcome message.
The official website, NevermoreAcademy.com, has everything fans could want. There’s a quiz to find out which Outcast power matches your personality. There are easter eggs hidden all over the site for fans to uncover. And, of course, there’s the application to try your luck at becoming a student. Just be warned: admission is very competitive, and possibly deadly.
This is your calling to join the Addams family at Nevermore Academy.

In season two, Wednesday Addams won’t be the only Addams on campus. Her brother Pugsley is joining Nevermore too, and it sounds like he’ll have his own strange and creepy journey. With more Outcasts, more mysteries, and more chaos, the new season promises even more fun for fans of the twisted series.
Netflix has also confirmed the impressive cast for season two. Steve Buscemi leads as Principal Dort, and he’s joined by Billie Piper as a character named Capri and Joanna Lumley as Grandmama. Thandiwe Newton plays Dr. Fairburn, and other actors like Frances O’Connor, Noah Taylor, Christopher Lloyd, and Haley Joel Osment are also on board, though their roles are still being kept secret. Plus, Lady Gaga is joining the cast in a mystery role.
Netflix says the new season will be split into two parts. The first four episodes will be released on August 6, 2025, and the second half will drop on September 3, 2025.
As the site says: “Have you ever felt like you don’t belong? A bit odd, too different to describe? Then we’ve got good news: there’s a very special place for you, alongside Wednesday Addams herself.”
