Jenna Ortega and the “Wednesday” team are heading to Sydney as part of the show’s global Doom Tour, and fans are already buzzing.

Netflix just released a brand-new photo showing Ortega in a stunning new look that’s got everyone talking. She’ll be appearing at a special event on August 16 along with director Tim Burton, co-star Emma Myers, and showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.

This Australian stop follows big fan events in Europe, the U.S., Canada, and South Korea. The event will be held on Cockatoo Island, and fans will be able to register for tickets starting July 23.

The visit is part of the buildup to the release of Wednesday Season 2, with Part 1 arriving on August 6 and Part 2 coming out on September 3.

In a chat with Tudum, Gough and Millar teased what’s to come for Wednesday Addams in the new season. “This season, Wednesday’s journey is darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries and old adversaries,” they said. Millar added, “Nothing is what it seems in Season 2.”

He went on to explain that Wednesday believes she’s returning to Nevermore with everything under control, but that’s far from the truth. “It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried — and she doesn’t.”

Season 2 is bringing in some big names. Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, and Evie Templeton are all joining as new regulars. There are also several guest stars this time around, including Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Haley Joel Osment, Frances O’Connor, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo. Lady Gaga is also part of the cast, though details about her character are still under wraps.

Jenna Ortega has been open about how much her life changed after Wednesday became a hit. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she said the attention was tough to deal with. “To be quite frank, after the show and trying to figure everything out, I was an unhappy person,” she shared. “After the pressure, the attention — as somebody who’s quite introverted, that was so intense and so scary.”

But from the look of things, Ortega is stepping back into the spotlight with confidence. And with Season 2 just around the corner, fans in Sydney, and around the world, are getting ready for another wild year at Nevermore.
