Fans finally got a look at Spider-Man’s brand-new suit as Sony dropped the first official teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day during Spider-Man Day. The footage gave audiences their first real glimpse of the updated design Tom Holland will wear when he returns as Peter Parker.

The movie is the fourth Spider-Man film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following No Way Home, and is part of Marvel’s Phase Six. It’s directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the same duo behind the previous Spidey films.

Alongside Holland, the film stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, better known as the Punisher. Charlie Cox is also expected to appear again as Daredevil.

According to Marvel and Sony, the story picks up after Doctor Strange’s spell in No Way Home erased the world’s memory of Peter Parker being Spider-Man. Now living in complete anonymity, Peter is back to protecting New York City from street-level threats while navigating a life where his closest friends, including MJ and Ned, no longer know who he is.

Production on Brand New Day began today, with filming taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, to stand in for New York City. Locations like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate have been spotted hosting major action scenes. Holland shared his excitement with reporters, saying it felt great to return to filming in real city locations again, just like on Homecoming, after No Way Home was mostly shot on soundstages during the pandemic.

Sony confirmed the film will hit U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026. The new teaser has already stirred up buzz online, with many fans praising the sleeker and more modern look of Spider-Man’s latest suit. One fan wrote on X, “This is hands down the best Spider-Man suit we’ve seen in live action.” Another joked, “Peter Parker’s suit game just leveled up.”

Producer Amy Pascal has previously hinted that Brand New Day will be the start of a new trilogy for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, promising bigger stories while still keeping the character grounded. Marvel boss Kevin Feige teased that the addition of the Punisher will bring a “different tonality” to the story, though it will still fit within the MCU’s style.

With a fresh suit, a stacked cast, and Spider-Man swinging into a brand new chapter, fans now have their calendars marked for summer 2026. And after this first look, the hype is officially in overdrive.
