[Watch] ‘Superman’s’ Most Epic Fight Scene Has Been Released Focusing on a Character that Stole The Spotlight In the Movie
James Gunn recently shared the coolest fight scene from his new DCU movie, Superman, just as the film’s digital release was announced. The scene shows Edi Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific taking on Lex Luthor’s henchmen in a military outpost.
As Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane and Mr. Terrific walk into the building, Gathegi’s character creates a protective shield around Lois and charges through a hail of gunfire while the song 5 Years Time plays. It’s a thrilling sequence that’s part of promoting Superman’s digital release, but it’s fun enough to watch on its own.

Superman hit U.S. theaters last month. The film, written and directed by James Gunn and produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, stars David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
The movie has sparked talk of future DC Universe projects, and fans are particularly excited about the potential for spin-off shows.
A recent Wall Street Journal article mentioned that Gunn is considering two new DC Universe series connected to Superman. One would focus on Mister Terrific, played by Gathegi, and the other on Jimmy Olsen, portrayed by Skyler Gisondo.
Gathegi said that he has a “multi-project deal” with DC but isn’t sure what’s planned for his character yet. “What James is driving home is the idea that they’re never going to rush into production with scripts that aren’t ready, so even whatever they do have planned for my characters is irrelevant until the draft comes in and it’s shootable,” he explained.
“So I don’t count my chickens before they hatch. I want to be involved in this universe in a major way, and whether or not that comes to fruition is just a matter of time and faith and other people’s hard work.”
Fans on X noticed that DC recently filed new trademarks for Mr. Terrific and Mister Miracle. These filings cover categories like motion pictures, suggesting that live-action or animated projects could be in the works. The Mister Miracle show isn’t a surprise since Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are already working on an animated series created by Tom King. But the Mister Terrific trademark is especially exciting because it hints at a live-action series in the future.
It’s worth noting, however, that a trademark filing doesn’t guarantee a show will happen. Sometimes it’s just a way for DC to reserve the name for potential future projects. Gunn hasn’t officially confirmed a Mister Terrific show yet. During his recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he declined to give details about either the Mister Terrific or Jimmy Olsen series.
For now, fans will have to wait to see if Mister Terrific gets his own show. But with the trademark filings and Gathegi’s deal, it looks like it’s at least a strong possibility for the future.
