The first gameplay footage of Final Fantasy 7 Remake running on Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been revealed. The footage, shown at Gamescom 2025 through a playable demo, offers fans about ten minutes of action from the iconic RPG.

All of the footage was captured in handheld mode, giving viewers a sense of how the game will perform on the new console. A small drawback is that the video is off-screen, as direct-feed footage wasn’t available, according to Gamescom reports.

Fans can get a glimpse of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2, which promises to bring a modern reimagining of the classic story to the platform.

Set in the city of Midgar, the game immerses players in a standalone experience designed for those who love RPGs, with memorable characters, a gripping story, and a battle system that blends real-time action with command-based strategy.

The game also includes FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, an additional story segment that runs during the events of the main game. Players will have the chance to explore this new content while fighting to protect the planet, offering both longtime fans and newcomers a fresh way to experience the world of Final Fantasy 7.

This first look at the Switch 2 version has sparked excitement among fans eager to see how the beloved game translates to handheld play, while keeping the depth and intensity of its original console experience.
