Netflix has released the trailer for The Woman in Cabin 10, a new psychological thriller starring Keira Knightley. The film is based on Ruth Ware’s 2016 novel of the same name and promises suspense, mystery, and high-stakes drama at sea.

The story follows Knightley’s character, journalist Laura “Lo” Blacklock, who is covering the maiden voyage of a luxury cruise ship. She becomes convinced that a passenger has been thrown overboard, even though all guests and crew seem to be accounted for. The trailer teases tension and intrigue as Lo tries to uncover the truth.

Alongside Knightley, the cast includes Guy Pearce, David Ajala, Art Malik, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Kaya Scodelario, David Morrissey, Daniel Ings, and Hannah Waddingham. According to Netflix and production sources, filming took place on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, England, as well as aboard the superyacht Savannah in September 2024.

Simon Stone directed the film, while Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse wrote the screenplay.

The project was originally acquired by CBS in 2017, with the Gotham Group developing it and Hillary Seitz attached as a writer. Netflix later picked up the rights in May 2024, officially bringing the adaptation to the streaming platform.

The Woman in Cabin 10 is set to premiere on Netflix on October 10, 2025. The recently released trailer gives fans a first look at the suspense and drama that await, with Knightley leading a gripping story full of twists and turns.
