Avengers: Doomsday is gearing up to be one of the biggest Marvel films yet, bringing together heroes from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie is produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. It will be the fifth Avengers movie and the 39th film in the MCU, following Avengers: Endgame.

The film boasts a huge cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Tom Hiddleston, Robert Downey Jr., Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and many more. In the story, the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the X-Men join forces to face Doctor Doom, played by Downey.

Tenoch Huerta, who plays Namor and first appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, recently shared a surprising update about the film.

He said that with so many characters in the story, each hero’s role will be smaller than fans might expect. “There are like twenty-something characters involved in the story… It’s more condensed since they have to give space to all the characters and the different universes,” Huerta told sources.

Namor hasn’t appeared in the MCU since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, making this his return. Avengers: Doomsday takes place fourteen months after the events of Thunderbolts and promises a massive crossover where multiple teams come together for the first time.

With so many characters in one film, it makes sense that screen time will be limited for each hero. It will be interesting to see how Marvel balances all these storylines while giving fans exciting moments. How do you feel about some characters having smaller roles?
