First Look at Narsil: ‘Rings of Power’ Teases Elendil and Iconic Sword in Season 3 Preview
Amazon Prime Video is teasing fans with a new sneak peek for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3.
The official accounts for the series on X and Instagram shared a 26-second video titled “The Sword of the Faithful” on September 10. On Instagram, the clip has already received over 21,000 likes, while on X it has been viewed more than 409,000 times.
The short teaser gives fans a blurry first look at Lloyd Owen as Elendil holding the “Sword of the Faithful,” which appears to be Narsil, the legendary sword that once cut the One Ring from Sauron’s hand.
This weapon was used by King Elendil in the War of the Last Alliance and later by his son Isildur. Fans of the series will also know that Isildur is an ancestor of Aragorn, one of the key heroes of Tolkien’s story.
The teaser ends with the words “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 Sneak Peeks,” hinting that more glimpses from the upcoming season may be released soon.
Robert Aramayo, who plays Elrond, confirmed that filming for Season 3 has begun in London, following the same location used for Season 2. Aramayo, who is also starring in the film I Swear, said that shooting on the series will keep him busy until the end of this year. He joked, “And then I’ll try and get a job fast.”
This teaser gives fans their first real look at one of the most iconic swords in Tolkien lore and promises that Season 3 will continue to explore the history and battles of Middle-earth.
