Netflix is bringing the Splinter Cell video game series to life with a new adult animated show called Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The series is set to premiere on October 14, and fans can now check out the first official poster and trailer, which showcase intense action and stealth missions.

The show centers on Sam Fisher, a highly skilled field commander of Fourth Echelon, a covert U.S. government unit specializing in counter-terrorism operations. Liev Schreiber will provide the voice for Fisher, replacing Michael Ironside, who had previously voiced the character in the video games but stepped down due to age.

Other cast members include Janet Varney as Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir, the technical operations officer for Fourth Echelon, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Zinnia McKenna, and Joel Oulette as Thunder.

Derek Kolstad, known for his work on the John Wick franchise, is serving as the lead writer and executive producer, while Guillaume Dousse directs the series with Félicien Colmet-Daage as co-director. Animation is handled by Danish/French Sun Creature Studio and the French studio Fost. According to Kolstad, only the first season has been officially approved, and it may take several years before a second season is considered.

“It’s exciting to bring Sam Fisher to a new audience in this animated format,” Kolstad said.
