Matt Damon pulled off a hilarious stunt on Jimmy Kimmel’s latest New York episode, continuing the longtime playful “feud” between the actor and the late-night host.

Damon snuck onto the show in disguise, dressed as Frankie Focus, the new mascot for New York education tied to the state’s school cellphone ban.

Initially, Kimmel didn’t realize who was under the mascot’s head. Damon used a cartoonish voice to speak to the host, jokingly insulting him and even asking the audience if Kimmel seemed “dumb.”

The tension built until Kimmel finally ripped off the mascot head, revealing Damon to the delight of the audience at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House.

The actor didn’t stop there. He joked with Kimmel about his costume, saying it wasn’t just a disguise and playfully hinting at a “s** thing.”

Damon then addressed Kimmel directly, saying, “I know we’ve had our differences over the years, but I wanted to be here tonight for your last show ever.” Kimmel quickly corrected him, noting he still had an episode coming up, leading to a comical back-and-forth about a supposed presidential “cancellation” of the show.

The playful chaos continued when Damon shouted to Kimmel’s mother, who was in the audience. “What’s up, Joan? What’s up? Hey, girl!” he said, even grabbing her hand briefly as he exited the stage.

This prank is just the latest chapter in a humorous rivalry that began in 2005 when Kimmel ended an episode with the now-famous line, “Apologies to Matt Damon, but we ran out of time,” despite Damon never being scheduled to appear.

Over the years, both have leaned into the joke, often involving other celebrities like Ben Affleck, Sarah Silverman, and Tom Brady.

Matt Damon’s stunt was classic late-night mischief and a reminder of how fun celebrity rivalries can be when they’re all in good humor. The audience loved it, and it’s clear that the Damon-Kimmel back-and-forth isn’t slowing down anytime soon. You can check out the video here.
