Dana Terrace, creator of the Disney animated series The Owl House, has urged fans to cancel their Disney+ subscriptions and pirate her show.

The message came after Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that generative AI tools and short-form user-generated content would soon be part of Disney+. On X, Terrace wrote, “Unsubscribe from Disney+. Pirate Owl House. I don’t care. F**** gen AI.”

Terrace is a well-known figure in animation. She worked as a storyboard artist on Gravity Falls, where she collaborated with creator Alex Hirsch, who later contributed as a creative consultant on The Owl House.

Terrace has also directed episodes of the new DuckTales series and worked in the art department for Netflix’s The Mitchells vs. the Machines.

Since The Owl House ended in 2023 amid controversy over its early conclusion, Terrace has moved on to adult animation. She is currently creating Knights of Guinevere in partnership with independent studio Glitch Productions.
