Even the most rewatchable Marvel adventures have on screen slip ups, and ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ hides plenty in its fast moving, neon soaked chaos. Sharp eyed fans have spotted continuity jumps, physics defiers, and prop quirks sprinkled across Sakaar and Asgard. Most are the quick blink and you miss it kind that only pop once you know where to look. Here are ten you can clock on your next viewing without pausing every ten seconds.

Mjolnir’s shattered pieces keep moving

Marvel

When Hela crushes Thor’s hammer in the Norway alley, the fragments fall into a clear pattern on the pavement. In the very next angles, the shards sit in different positions relative to the curb and the characters’ feet. A few pieces even change size and spacing between wide and close shots. The ground markings around the debris also do not match from shot to shot.

Valkyrie’s tattoo and face paint switch sides

Marvel

Valkyrie’s identifying Valkyrie tattoo and the war paint she wears on Sakaar do not stay consistent. Across different scenes, the visible placement flips sides in certain shots, especially during quick cuts while she escorts prisoners. The orientation of her cheek markings also changes when the camera switches from profile to front. Wardrobe and makeup continuity were clearly reset between setups.

Skurge’s twin rifles never need reloading

Marvel

During the final stand on the Bifrost, Skurge fires two Earth made rifles that each use detachable box magazines. He empties long bursts far beyond the realistic capacity without inserting fresh magazines. The muzzles keep flashing while the magazines remain unchanged from earlier shots. No spare ammo is shown on his person during the sequence.

Banner’s borrowed clothes change size

Marvel

After the arena escape, Banner wears Tony Stark’s spare clothes taken from the Grandmaster’s ship. The fit appears very tight at first, which aligns with Banner being larger than Stark. Minutes later the same outfit hangs looser and then tears differently during action beats without any wardrobe swap shown. The shirt sleeves and pant leg lengths also vary across angles.

Thor’s gladiator markings do not match

Marvel

In the arena, Thor sports distinctive red and blue body paint and scuffs applied by the barber and prep crew. The width and curvature of the red streak across his face change between medium and close shots. Smudges on his torso and shoulder pads appear and disappear after impacts. Even the smear on the corner of his mouth resets mid exchange.

The obedience disk jumps around

Marvel

Thor is controlled on Sakaar by an obedience disk attached near his neck. During captures and escapes, the device’s exact position shifts between the base of the neck and the upper shoulder within the same scene. At times the surrounding burn mark ring vanishes when the camera angle flips. When the disk is removed, the residual mark reappears in later shots.

Grandmaster’s melt stick residue changes

Marvel

When the Grandmaster demonstrates his infamous melt stick, the resulting residue on the floor changes form. The amount of goo, its spread pattern, and even its sheen differ between angles of the same moment. The puddle’s edge lines up with different floor tiles depending on the cut. Crew resets clearly did not recreate the earlier placement.

Surtur’s crown shifts in scale

Marvel

The fiery crown that contains Surtur’s essence does not hold a constant size. When seen in Odin’s vault and then handled for the ritual, its proportions to nearby props and characters vary across shots. The horn span looks wider in close ups than in wides within the same sequence. Depth cues from the pedestal and background steps do not match between cuts.

Bifrost bridge damage resets mid battle

Marvel

As Hela’s forces clash with the Revengers, the crystalline Bifrost surface cracks and craters from impacts. In subsequent angles of the same exchange, earlier fractures are gone or lie in different places relative to the fighters. Broken sections appear intact again when the camera pulls back. The edge chips near the railing also change shape across cuts.

Escape ship capacity does not track on screen

Marvel

The heroes escape Asgard with a crowd aboard a scavenged ship and then transfer survivors to a larger vessel. The number of civilians shown entering and later standing on deck fluctuates in ways that exceed what was loaded earlier in the sequence. Group sizes expand or shrink between consecutive shots without additional transports arriving. Background crowd continuity does not align with the established capacity in the preceding scenes.
