Dwayne Johnson gave fans a first look at the new Jumanji movie as filming officially began.

On November 19, he posted a video on Instagram showing himself on a Hollywood set. In the clip, Johnson rides a golf cart and points to a necklace he is wearing. The necklace is the same one Robin Williams wore in the original 1995 Jumanji, where Williams played Alan Parrish.

“As you see, little easter egg of Doctor Bravestone. This is the dice from the original Jumanji with Robin Williams as a show of respect…and a way of honoring Robin and this entire franchise with the way it started as we film our very last Jumanji,” Johnson said in the video. He ended the post with the caption, “This one’s for you, Robin.”

The untitled Jumanji sequel is being produced by Dwayne Johnson, Jake Kasdan, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Matt Tolmach. Production companies involved include Columbia Pictures, Matt Tolmach Productions, Seven Bucks Productions, and The Detective Agency.

Many familiar faces are returning for the movie. Along with Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, Lamorne Morris, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, Rhys Darby, and Bebe Neuwirth will reprise their roles. New cast members include Brittany O’Grady, Burn Gorman, and Dan Hildebrand.

Jake Kasdan is directing and co-wrote the script with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. This film continues the story from Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) and is set to be the fifth and final installment of the franchise. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States on December 11, 2026.
