Disney’s Zootopia 2 is continuing to dominate the box office in its second weekend, racking up huge numbers worldwide.

After just two weekends in theaters, the animated hit has earned $915.8 million globally, including $695.3 million from international markets. Analysts predict it will cross the $1 billion mark within the next week.

The film, directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, has already set several records. With its second weekend numbers, Zootopia 2 has become the third-highest grossing Hollywood release of 2025 worldwide and ranks number one internationally.

In China, the movie has earned $430.4 million, making it the second-highest grossing studio film in the market, only behind Avengers: Endgame.

Japan saw its first release this weekend, where Zootopia 2 opened at number one with $12.3 million. This marks the second-best opening ever for a Hollywood movie in the country, behind Frozen 2.

Overseas, the film brought in $219 million from 52 major markets during its second weekend. Overall, the international drop was 40 percent, or 27 percent if you exclude China. Some of the strongest holds were in Brazil (-16%), Germany (-18%), France (-27%), Korea (-27%), Australia (-28%), Spain (-28%), the UK (-34%), Italy (-38%), China (-45%), and Mexico (-46%).

According to Deadline Hollywood, the movie was expected to make over $125 million in the United States and Canada over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend and $270 million worldwide. Zootopia 2 surpassed those predictions, grossing $158.8 million domestically and $560.3 million globally through its first weekend.

Its worldwide opening was the highest ever for an animated film and the fourth-highest overall. In the U.S. and Canada, the three-day opening weekend was $100.3 million. The movie performed particularly well in China, grossing $271.6 million in its opening weekend and becoming the first Hollywood film to earn over $100 million in a single day on Saturday, November 29.

Meanwhile, Universal, Blumhouse, and Atomic Monster’s Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 made an impressive debut. The horror sequel grossed $109.1 million worldwide, well above pre-weekend projections.

Internationally, it earned an estimated $46.1 million from 76 markets. This is below the first Five Nights at Freddy’s film but above Final Destination: Bloodlines and Annabelle Comes Home, and more than double Smile 2, excluding previews.
