Peacock’s new science-fiction spy thriller The Copenhagen Test is getting closer to its debut, and the streamer has now released the official trailer.

The series comes from creator Thomas Brandon, with James Wan among the executive producers. The show is set to arrive on December 27, and will run for eight episodes.

According to Peacock, the story takes place in the near future and follows an intelligence agent whose mind is hacked. After the breach, he must prove where his loyalty stands. Simu Liu leads the series as Alexander Hale, with Melissa Barrera starring opposite him as Michelle. The cast also includes Sinclair Daniel, Brian d’Arcy James, Mark O’Brien and Kathleen Chalfant.

Production on the show started in Toronto in October 2024 and finished in March. The project was first picked up by Peacock earlier in 2024. Jennifer Yale joined Brandon as co-showrunner, and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett also serve as executive producers. Simu Liu is involved behind the scenes as well, and Jet Wilkinson directed the first two episodes.

More casting was added as filming continued. Sara Amini stepped into a major recurring role, and Saul Rubinek was revealed soon after.

With the trailer now out, fans get their first real look at the tone and pace of the show. The footage teases a mix of tense spy action and futuristic tech as Hale tries to uncover who is controlling him and why.
