Before its official release on December 19, Lionsgate hosted the premiere of The Housemaid in Los Angeles. The event took place at the TCL Chinese Theatre and drew a crowd of industry figures, including the film’s stars Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried.

On the red carpet, the two actresses impressed attendees with their glamorous looks. Sweeney wore a stunning white dress, while Seyfried opted for a striking red outfit. Both were praised for their style as fans and photographers captured the night.

The Housemaid is a psychological thriller directed by Paul Feig, with a screenplay by Rebecca Sonnenshine. The movie is based on Freida McFadden’s 2022 novel of the same name. Sweeney plays Millie Calloway, a young woman with a troubled past who becomes the live-in housemaid for a wealthy family. As she settles into her new role, she discovers the household is hiding dark secrets, and their seemingly perfect lives begin to unravel.

Amanda Seyfried stars as Nina Winchester, the wealthy woman who hires Millie. Other cast members include Brandon Sklenar as Nina’s husband Andrew, Michele Morrone as the groundskeeper Enzo, and Elizabeth Perkins as Andrew’s mother Evelyn. The film also features Indiana Elle, Mark Grossman, Hannah Cruz, Megan Ferguson, and Ellen Tamaki in supporting roles.

Principal photography for the movie took place in New Jersey from January to March. Lionsgate plans to release the film in theaters across the United States and Canada on December 19.
