JK Rowling is still making massive money from the Harry Potter series, mainly through digital sales. New financial filings show that her company, Pottermore Ltd, had another very strong year.

According to the company’s annual accounts, which are the main source of this information, Pottermore Ltd made £54.3 million in revenue in the year ending in March. That is a clear increase from the year before, when the company brought in £48.8 million. The firm is responsible for selling Harry Potter e-books and audiobooks worldwide.

Most of the income came from outside the UK. More than £41 million was earned from the Americas, while around £12 million came from the UK and Europe combined.

Profits also rose sharply. The company posted a pre-tax profit of £17.2 million, up from £11.4 million the previous year. From those profits, £11.6 million was paid out in dividends. This adds to Rowling’s estimated personal wealth, which is believed to be at least £945 million, built from books, films, and Harry Potter theme parks.

Accountants explained the company’s role in the financial report. They said Pottermore Ltd is “the global digital audiobook and eBook publisher of J.K. Rowling’s multi-million bestselling Harry Potter series and associated titles.” They also noted that “Pottermore promotes accessibility, creativity, and innovation” by keeping the stories available for new readers and listeners.

The report said the company continues to handle digital versions of the original Harry Potter books, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the Fantastic Beasts screenplays, and the Hogwarts Library books. It also releases digital non-fiction tied to the Harry Potter universe.

Digital Harry Potter platforms are managed through Wizarding World Digital LLC, which is a joint venture between Pottermore Inc and Warner Bros. Discovery.

The accountants described the past year as a record one. They said, “Pottermore Ltd has had a new record year, continuing to benefit from making its content available through a global distribution network.” That network includes major platforms such as Amazon, Apple, Audible, Google, Spotify, and library services like Overdrive and Hoopla.

The company also focused on reaching new audiences. It released e-books and audiobooks of From the Wizarding Archive in five languages. Hogwarts Library Books were expanded into four additional languages. The first Harry Potter audiobook in Greek was also released through a partnership with JukeBooks.

Another major move was bringing Stephen Fry’s audiobook versions to the US for the first time. These joined the Jim Dale editions, which continue to perform well.
