Sophie Turner Is Open to Returning to the ‘Game of Thrones’ World — But Only Under One Condition
Sophie Turner recently spoke to The Direct while promoting her new Amazon Prime Video film, Steal. During the interview, the topic of Game of Thrones naturally came up, and Turner shared her thoughts on reprising her role as Sansa Stark in a potential HBO sequel.
When asked how she felt about returning to the franchise, Turner admitted it would be both exciting and challenging. “Show me the money (laughs). I don’t know, I think it would be hard but also amazing to come back to it,” she said.
Turner also reflected on the way her character’s story concluded in the original series. She revealed that she was happy with Sansa’s ending in Season 8, even if other characters did not get the same satisfaction:
“But I feel that I was very happy with the way Sansa ended her story in ‘Game of Thrones,’ and no one else was really happy with their ending. I feel like I got a good one, and so I don’t know if I could revisit it.”
Despite her reservations, Turner left the door open for a return. She explained that it would depend on the story and script: “Maybe it would be an utter joy, or maybe it would be trying to cling on to something that was magic back in the day that can’t be recreated. I would have to see a script.”
While Turner is cautious about revisiting Sansa, fans of the series may still have hope. Her willingness to consider a return shows that the Queen of the North might one day be back on screen, if the right story comes along.
