Hudson Williams is giving fans an inside look at his workout routine ahead of Heated Rivalry’s second season. The 24-year-old actor appeared in a “Train Like” video for Men’s Health, showing viewers how he stays in shape and sharing his fitness goals for the show.

Hudson said his workouts focus on the entire body. My workout is always total body just because depending on when I can get into the gym, I just like to know I’ve hit everything, he explained.

He noted that his sessions are usually an hour or 45 minutes long. Ideally, he tries to go five times a week, but often finds himself scaling back to three times when he is traveling or too busy.

Preparing for his role as Shane Hollander, Hudson said he wanted to build more muscle than some of the other cast members. He recalled asking creator Jacob Tierney what his character’s physique should look like.

Hockey players don’t usually look that jacked and then the rest are kind of just like wiry strong or they look like they drink beer strong, you know? Hudson said. But then I was asking Jacob like, ‘What should I look like?’ And he’s like, ‘You should look like you eat pasta.’

The actor wasn’t entirely sold on that vision after seeing his fellow stars. I was like, ‘I don’t know. I’ve seen these other guys on the show and they look like underwear models,’ he admitted.

As soon as he saw his co-lead, Connor Storrie, Hudson decided to change his approach entirely. I just decided to um not eat carbs and try to get as big as possible. I want to get bigger, juicier, thicker. I want to get some bigger legs, he said.

Hudson described how he adapts his workouts depending on his busy filming schedule. If he has a full week available, he performs only two sets of every exercise to get in and out of the gym quickly.

However, if he knows he can only make it to the gym once or twice, he increases the intensity. Then I’ll just do uh three to four sets of basically every workout, he shared with the outlet.

The actor also joked about his own physique compared to Storrie, who plays Ilya Rozanov. I want to keep this butt and get a bigger butt as well, Hudson laughed.

Poor Connor Storrie, who has the fattest butt I’ve ever seen on a man, I’m sure just wants to stop talking about his beautiful cheeks, he continued. I want to get as big as he was in the first season.

Hudson predicted that his co-star is only going to get more muscular as the series progresses. I think that guy is going to just eat so much protein. He’s going to ascend. He’s going to show up looking like an Olympia, Mr. Olympia, he added.

The actors often work out together, even after long filming days, and like to share new exercises with each other. We do go to the gym together, but we don’t really do the same workouts, but we show each other some things, and that’s always fun, Hudson said.

Hudson also opened up about his back dimples and stretch marks, which have gained significant attention on social media. I always thought stretch marks, I called them like tiger stripes. I’ve always appreciated them on women, men, he shared.

He mentioned that a longtime workout buddy of his used to get them very quickly regardless of weight changes. I always thought they looked really cool, Hudson noted. So, yeah, I’m happy for my dimples and my a** stretch marks. I like ‘em.

Hudson Williams has quickly become a breakout star following the massive success of Heated Rivalry on Crave and Max. The Japanese-Canadian actor was born in Kamloops, British Columbia, and previously appeared in projects like Allegiance and the 2025 series Tracker.

The second season of Heated Rivalry is currently in development and is expected to adapt The Long Game, the sixth book in Rachel Reid’s popular novel series. The upcoming episodes will continue to explore the secret relationship between Shane and Ilya as they navigate life in the professional hockey league.
