The cast of The Devil Wears Prada is back together for the highly anticipated sequel, and fans got their first taste of it on Sunday. 20th Century Studios shared a short teaser trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2, giving viewers a 30-second look at the characters 20 years after the original film.

In the clip, Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton, delivers a sharp comment to Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway. “You’ve changed,” she says, “you’re much more confident. You kept those eyebrows, though, didn’t you?” The brief scene shows the playful tension between the characters, reminding fans of the iconic rivalries from the first film.

The studio teased the full trailer on social media, saying simply, “Trailer tonight. That’s all.”

The original movie, based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel, followed Andy Sachs as she navigated her job as junior assistant to the demanding editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep. In the sequel, Variety reports that Priestly faces new challenges as the magazine industry declines, while Emily Charlton has risen to a high-powered role in a luxury company, creating tension over valuable advertising contracts.

Alongside Hathaway, Streep, and Blunt, the film also stars Stanley Tucci, Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, and Conrad Ricamora. The original director, David Frankel, and writer Aline Brosh McKenna, return to bring the story of Runway to the screen once again.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Blunt reflected on the playful dynamic between her and Streep in their films. “Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do? We always have beef with each other. I don’t know what it is. Let’s hope we remedy it. I’m not sure,” she said.

Speaking about returning to the franchise after two decades, Blunt added, “in a blink, it’s gone bye.” She also told PORTER magazine that making the sequel was more than just another movie. “It has deep emotional roots for a lot of us,” she explained.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to hit theaters on May 1.

The sequel looks like it will mix humor, drama, and the same sharp character dynamics that made the first film so memorable. Emily Blunt’s quick jab at Anne Hathaway already shows the witty tone is back. What do you think about seeing the cast reunite after 20 years? Share your thoughts in the comments.
