Timothée Chalamet returned to the spotlight in style at the 46th London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, taking home the Actor of the Year award for his lead role in Marty Supreme. The 30-year-old star beat out tough competition, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Ethan Hawke, for his performance in Josh Safdie’s fast-paced sports dramedy, according to the official awards announcement.

Chalamet’s win is a full-circle moment, as he previously earned the same honor in 2018 for Call Me By Your Name. Fans in London greeted him enthusiastically outside the May Fair Hotel, where he arrived in a sleek black suit.

Though he skipped red carpet selfies, his presence was impossible to miss. Before the ceremony, he participated in Q&A sessions at the Prince Charles Cinema with screenwriter Richard Curtis.

In the film, Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, a driven table tennis hustler inspired by real-life champion Marty Reisman. His performance has drawn praise from critics for its intensity and charm, cementing Chalamet’s status as one of Hollywood’s most daring young actors.

The evening also celebrated other standout achievements in film. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another won Film of the Year, with Anderson taking home Director and Screenwriter of the Year. Sean Penn won Supporting Actor, while Jessie Buckley earned Actress of the Year for Hamnet. Industry legends were honored as well: Cynthia Erivo received the Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation, and Guillermo del Toro was given the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film.

Chalamet’s 2026 has already been busy. In addition to his Critics’ Choice win for Marty Supreme, he is considered a frontrunner for the upcoming Oscars. Fans can also look forward to seeing him in Dune: Part Three, expected in December.

Chalamet appears to be enjoying his time in London while celebrating the success of a career-defining performance. His fans continue to follow his journey closely, excited for what’s next.
