Sarah Michelle Gellar, 48, Shows off Fit Look While Filming Netflix Star Search
Sarah Michelle Gellar recently gave her followers a peek into her busy life, sharing a social media montage that shows just how much she can pack into a single day. At 48, the actress looks more fit than ever.
Appearing in body-hugging workout gear that many fans noted made her look ready to jump back into her famous role as a vampire slayer. The video, which she joked was just all in a day’s work, shows her training hard at ALO Studios with exercises like battle ropes and lat pulldowns.
The clip wasn’t just about the gym, though, as it also highlighted the constant costume changes that come with her latest high-profile job. She transitioned from her comfortable athleisure into a variety of stunning looks, including a gold lace dress and a sophisticated black corseted gown. Between these glamorous moments, fans also spotted her relaxing in a star-patterned robe while hanging out with her fellow cast members, Jelly Roll and Chrissy Teigen.
This busy schedule is mostly due to her new role as a judge on the Netflix revival of Star Search, which premiered live on January 20. For Gellar, being on the show is a major full-circle moment, as she actually auditioned for the original version of the talent competition as a young girl and was turned down.
She told People that returning as a judge feels like a full redemption arc and serves as a great lesson for her kids that you should never give up on your dreams, even after a setback.
Aside from her work on the judging panel, Gellar is currently in the middle of a major career comeback. She is set to return to the big screen on March 20, in the highly anticipated horror sequel Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
In this new “unhinged” chapter, she joins Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton as a member of a rival wealthy family. The movie, which recently moved its release date up, will have its world premiere at the SXSW Festival just a week before hitting theaters everywhere.
Television fans also have plenty to look forward to, as she is officially reprising her most iconic role in a new series for Hulu titled Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale. While she spent years away from the industry to focus on being a mom to her two children, Charlotte and Rocky, she recently told listeners on the Shut Up Evan podcast that she finally feels like she is getting my sea legs back and is ready to work on projects that truly excite her.
She has also been seen lately as forensics expert Tanya Martin in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, proving that she is still the reigning queen of the horror and thriller genres.
