Halle Berry, 59, Flaunts Stunning $200K Ring at First Post-Engagement Red Carpet
Halle Berry made a glittering statement at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest thriller, Crime 101, marking her first red carpet appearance since confirming her engagement to musician Van Hunt. The 59-year-old Oscar winner was the epitome of ageless glamour, choosing a sleek black suit paired with a plunging silk blouse that perfectly showcased her new hardware.
The custom engagement ring, an Art Deco-inspired masterpiece featuring black stones and a geometric diamond setting, has already been valued by experts at upwards of $200,000.
The actress appeared in high spirits, flashing her signature smile alongside co-star Chris Hemsworth while finally clearing up the “confusion” regarding her relationship status. Just days prior, during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Berry confirmed she had indeed accepted Hunt’s proposal after five years of dating.
She playfully addressed rumors that she had previously declined, noting that while they haven’t set a wedding date yet, she is fully committed to the man she calls the best relationship I have ever had.

This new chapter follows a decade of Berry intentionally stepping back from the spotlight to break a cycle of being labeled “unlucky in love” by the media. After three previous marriages and public custody battles, she revealed that she had to do the internal work to heal childhood wounds and stop attracting mirror images of her own brokenness.
Now, she describes her bond with Hunt as a partnership rooted in genuine self-love and stability, a far cry from the high-drama romances of her past. As of February, Berry is entering what she calls her “second act” with an incredibly ambitious professional slate.
Her new film, Crime 101, directed by Bart Layton and based on a Don Winslow novella, officially hits theaters on February 13. The heist thriller features an ensemble cast including Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, and Jennifer Jason Leigh, with early reviews praising Berry’s performance as her best work in over a decade.
Beyond the big screen, Berry is expanding her influence as a producer through her company, HalleHolly. She recently announced she will star as President Joanna Duncan in a gender-flipped adaptation of the political thriller The President Is Missing, which has moved to Apple Original Films.
She is also set to begin filming the drama Fleur in Paris this March, followed by the action-comedy Bad Cop, Bad Cop, alongside Fortune Feimster. While fans have been vocal about wanting her to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Storm, Berry recently addressed the rumors at the Crime 101 premiere, insisting she is not in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
Do you think Halle Berry’s shift toward producing her own “power-driven” characters will finally allow her to escape the “Bond girl” archetype that has followed her for decades? Share your thoughts in the comments.
