Uma Thurman, 55, Shows off Must-Have Jewelry Trend
Every fashion girl knows accessories are king. Styling garments together is one part of the equation, but the final touch that locks it all together always comes down to the details. At New York Fashion Week on February 12, Uma Thurman demonstrated exactly how a single accessory can sharpen an entire look.
Stepping out for the Michael Kors Collection 45th anniversary show, she wore the jewelry trend that continues to define modern fashion: layered pearls. For the high-profile occasion at the Metropolitan Opera House, she wore a long gray banker’s wool coat draped cleanly over her frame.
The outerwear was worn open to reveal a white satin charmeuse collared shirt layered beneath a black cashmere bias-cut sweater. Thurman paired the ensemble with wide-leg black crepe trousers and classic pointed pumps, creating a silhouette that felt both timeless and current.
Multiple strands of pearls cascaded down the front of her sweater, which brought the perfect touch of opulence against the matte knit. Thurman’s choice to layer them over a minimalist black and gray palette proved that traditional gems can feel entirely edgy in a contemporary context. She kept the rest of her accessories toned down with a structured black top-handle bag and subtle drop earrings.
As for her hair, it was kept in soft, natural waves that complemented the relaxed luxury of her outfit. Whether it be the Princess of Wales or Heidi Klum, a sweep of a pearl necklace remains one of the most modern finishing touches in fashion today. It also continues to be a major favorite among the current landscape of designers on the runways this season.

Away from the front row, Thurman is currently experiencing a massive professional resurgence, particularly within the action and thriller genres. She is set to star in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video thriller Pretty Lethal, which will have its world premiere at the SXSW festival in March.
In the film, she plays the antagonist Devora, an unsettling innkeeper who crosses paths with a group of stranded ballerinas who must weaponize their training to survive. On the small screen, Thurman has officially joined the cast of Dexter: Resurrection as a series regular for its summer debut on Showtime.
She portrays Charley, a meticulous former Special Ops officer who serves as the head of security for a mysterious billionaire. This role marks a significant return to her “tough-as-nails” roots, following her recent appearance alongside Charlize Theron in Netflix’s The Old Guard 2, where she played the formidable immortal known as Discord.
In addition to her thriller roles, she is slated to star in Richard Eyre’s upcoming romance The Housekeeper, alongside Anthony Hopkins and Phoebe Dynevor. The film is a fictionalized look at the inspiration behind Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, allowing Thurman to flex the dramatic muscles she has cultivated over her decades-long career.
