Apple Martin has directly addressed and refuted persistent internet rumors claiming she was kicked out of an educational institution for aggressive behavior toward peers. On Monday, February 16, the 21-year-old took to her Instagram Stories to clarify that she has never faced expulsion from any school, particularly not for bullying.

She expressed a desire to remain silent but felt compelled to speak as the story had gotten so out of hand. The Vanderbilt University senior acknowledged that she is comfortable with the idea that not everyone will find her likable, noting that the digital world is a space where ppl can share their opinions.

However, she drew a firm line at what she described as a completely untrue characterization of her personality. According to her statement, those who are actually in her inner circle are well aware that she is not that type of person.

These specific “mean girl” accusations appeared to gain traction following a 2024 viral video from Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, where some viewers misinterpreted her movements during a photo opportunity.

Despite the online backlash at the time, the young woman featured in the clip, Aliénor Loppin de Montmort, publicly defended the celebrity daughter. She described her as genuinely the nicest girl ever and insisted that she was respectful toward all the other debutantes throughout the evening.

Friends and family have also rushed to her defense, portraying her as a supportive girls’ girl who had no intention of stealing anyone’s spotlight. A source close to her mother, Gwyneth Paltrow, previously mentioned that the focus on these fleeting moments was taking away from what had been an uplifting evening for all involved.

At the time, Apple even used TikTok to lightheartedly mock the accusations with her friends, joking that they were actually a delight to be around. As she approaches her college graduation in May, Apple has been significantly increasing her public profile.

She recently made her debut as a brand ambassador for the fashion house Self-Portrait and appeared in a high-profile campaign for GapStudio alongside her mother. Beyond modeling, she is also making a name for herself in the music world, having recently performed an impromptu set with the duo Jade Street in Nashville.

While she previously studied law, history, and society at Vanderbilt, she recently revealed to Vogue that her true dream is to act. She admitted that she went through a rebellious phase where she didn’t want to follow in the footsteps of her famous parents, but she has since embraced her creative interests.

She is currently directing a play at her university and has expressed a deep love for musical theater, though she finds solo singing to be terrifying. In addition to her career aspirations, the young star has also used her growing platform to debunk other misconceptions, such as rumors regarding extensive cosmetic surgery.

In a recent beauty video, she candidly shared that while she experimented with lip filler once at 18, she found it too big and has since relied on clever makeup techniques instead. As she prepares to transition from student life to a career in the entertainment industry, she seems intent on clearing the air regarding her past and her character.
