Hailey Bieber Opens up About Feeling More Anxious About Her Health Following Mini-Stroke
Hailey Bieber is opening up about a transformative shift in her health perspective following what she describes as a “crazy” medical ordeal. During a recent appearance on the February 19 episode of Jake Shane’s Therapuss podcast, the 29-year-old model reflected on how her 2022 mini-stroke and subsequent heart surgery changed her life forever.
She confessed that while she has always been fascinated by the human body, the scare forced her to become extra hyper-aware and more proactive about her well-being. The situation began in March 2022, when she was hospitalized after experiencing stroke-like symptoms caused by a blood clot in her brain.
Doctors eventually diagnosed her with a patent foramen ovale (PFO), a heart defect she had possessed since birth, which required corrective surgery. Hailey recalled that the experience was the scariest thing I’ve ever gone through, leading to a period of intense anxiety and even symptoms of PTSD when returning to the location where the event occurred.
Despite the terror of the moment, she explained to Shane that her obsession with skincare actually stems from this deep-seated interest in medicine and biology. The health scare served as a primary catalyst for the launch of her beauty brand, Rhode, as she sought to channel her fascination with health into a creative outlet.
She shared that while the aftermath was disorienting in every single way, she is now in a place of deep gratitude for the medical team that helped her navigate the crisis. Now, nearly four years after the emergency, Hailey feels a sense of relief and a renewed commitment to staying on top of her physical health.
She noted that it has become easier and easier with time to discuss the experience publicly, hoping her story might help others recognize the importance of listening to their bodies. While she still deals with occasional nerves, she emphasized that her recovery has allowed her to move forward and focus on her growing family and business empire.
In addition to her health journey, the 29-year-old mogul is busier than ever. She recently celebrated a major milestone with her husband, Justin Bieber, marking ten years since they first went Instagram official.
The couple also made a high-profile appearance at the Grammy Awards on February 1, where they walked the red carpet together for the first time in four years to support Justin’s nominations for his latest album, Swag.
On the business front, Hailey’s brand, Rhode, continues to dominate the beauty market with several major launches. Following the success of the “Caffeine Reset” face mask and “Peptide Lip Boost” earlier this month, the brand is reportedly preparing to release long-awaited pimple patches and a new line of bronzing products.
Outside of her professional life, Hailey is enjoying motherhood with her 17-month-old son, Jack Blues, often sharing anecdotes about his new favorite word, basketball, and his sweet habit of singing his father’s classic hit, Baby.
