A new TV teaser for Spider-Noir has given fans fresh footage of Nicolas Cage’s dark version of the Marvel hero. The short clip aired in the United States and includes several new scenes that were not part of the first trailer.

The series is set in 1930s New York and follows Ben Reilly instead of the usual Peter Parker. In one of the new moments, Reilly is seen with visible bruises on his face. When Cat Hardy, played by Li Jun Li, asks what happened, he casually says he “walked into a door.” The teaser quickly shows that street fights with gangsters are the real reason behind his injuries.

Viewers also get a clearer look at Electro. One scene shows the villain using an electrified weapon against Cage’s character. The promo also features more footage of Sandman, played by Jack Huston, and Silvermane, played by Brendan Gleeson. The new shots confirm that the show will include several well-known villains from the comics.

The action scenes highlight a fast and aggressive hero. Cage’s performance mixes classic detective style with his usual bold energy. The actor has said his take on the character is “70 percent [Humphrey] Bogart, and 30 percent Bugs Bunny.” That description suggests a serious tone with a strange sense of humor underneath.

Cage previously voiced a version of the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. This time, he plays Ben Reilly in live action. Writer Oren Uziel explained the choice in an interview with Esquire. “Peter Parker feels very synonymous with a high school kid. Boyish. On his way up. Ben Reilly has already gone through the entire arc and has seen it all.” His comment makes it clear the show is focusing on a more experienced and worn-down hero.

The series will be released in both color and black-and-white versions. It premieres on Prime Video on May 27. Subscribers to MGM Plus will be able to watch it earlier on May 25.

This darker take on the character feels fresh and different from other Spider-Man stories. Choosing Ben Reilly instead of Peter Parker could give the series more depth. The new teaser shows strong action and a clear tone. What do you think about this version of Spider-Noir and Nicolas Cage in the role? Share your thoughts in the comments.
