Fans showed up excited and ready as the cast of the live-action One Piece gathered for the premiere of the special theatrical event, One Piece: Into the Grand Line.

Emily Rudd was among those who drew strong attention when she arrived to celebrate the next chapter of the story. She spent time with fans who have supported her take on Nami since the beginning. Her presence reflected how important this next season is for both the cast and the audience.

Season two picks up as the Straw Hat crew finally reaches the Grand Line. In the story, this part of the sea is known for wild weather and constant danger. The new episodes follow their journey toward places like Drum Island and Alabasta.

In past interviews discussing her role and the original manga by Eiichiro Oda, Rudd spoke openly about her respect for the creator’s work. She said, Oda-sensei is an absolute genius and it is kind of hard to argue against genius.

She has also spoken about what the story means to her. During press discussions about the show’s themes, she explained, it is a story about found family, a story about freedom, and pursuing your dreams.

Rudd has made it clear that stepping into such a well-known role came with pressure. While talking about Nami’s journey and the expectations tied to the adaptation, she admitted, I was so deeply aware that this was going to hinge on me.

Outside of One Piece, Rudd has stayed busy with other projects. She recently voiced Marcille Donato in the English dub of the anime Delicious in Dungeon. She is also attached to the upcoming film Whalefall. Fans also remember her from the Fear Street films, where she played both Cindy and Abigail Berman.

The returning cast includes Iñaki Godoy as Luffy and Mackenyu as Zoro, along with Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar. New additions have also been confirmed through casting announcements. Joe Manganiello joins as Mr. 0, Katey Sagal appears as Dr. Kureha, and David Dastmalchian steps in as Mr. 3.

Netflix has already confirmed that work on a third season is underway. Eiichiro Oda continues to oversee the adaptation, according to production updates shared by the platform.

The Into the Grand Line screenings will show the first two episodes in theaters across the United States, Canada, and Japan starting March 10.

As the premiere came to a close, excitement around the series felt stronger than ever. With new characters like Tony Tony Chopper joining the story and filming now taking place in Cape Town, the live-action world of One Piece is expanding in a big way.
