She explained that the reindeer-human hybrid tries to appear tough, but underneath he’s gentle and full of love. “He tries so hard to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath, he’s a big softy, and his love can’t help but come out,” she added. Hoover also highlighted the theme of found family in the story. “We all want to be loved and accepted, and there’s a purity to his nature that reminds us of what’s good in the world.”
Hoover not only voices Chopper but also performs facial capture for the character, bringing him to life in the series. Fans have been curious to see how the live-action version would handle Chopper, and reactions so far have been positive.
Season 2, titled “One Piece: Into the Grand Line,” is set to premiere on March 10. The new episodes will follow Monkey D. Luffy and his crew as they navigate the dangerous Grand Line, visiting iconic locations like Loguetown and Drum Island.
Hoover has built a strong presence in sci-fi and superhero projects, recently appearing as Cat Grant in James Gunn’s 2025 “Superman” film.
