New York City was buzzing with Hollywood energy as Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis made a joint appearance to promote their new crime drama, Scarpetta. Photographs from the red carpet, captured by JPASC24, showed the two stars in sleek black outfits, commanding attention from fans and photographers alike.

The series is adapted from the bestselling novels by Patricia Cornwell, marking the first time her iconic character, Dr. Kay Scarpetta, is brought to television.

Kidman stars as the titular forensic pathologist, returning to Virginia as Chief Medical Examiner to solve complex crimes using advanced scientific methods. Curtis plays Dorothy Farinelli, Scarpetta’s sister, and their complicated relationship is expected to provide an emotional backbone to the series.

Both actresses are deeply involved behind the scenes as executive producers. Kidman, who has long expressed a desire to portray Scarpetta, has been pursuing the role for nearly twenty years through her company Blossom Films, while Curtis contributes through Comet Pictures.

The first season of Scarpetta is set to premiere on Prime Video on March 11. The series features an ensemble cast including Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, and Simon Baker. Eight episodes have been confirmed for the debut season, and a second season is already in the works.

Outside of Scarpetta, both stars remain busy. Kidman recently appeared in the thriller Babygirl and the mystery series The Perfect Couple, and she is preparing to return for Practical Magic 2, reuniting with Sandra Bullock. Curtis, who recently won an Oscar for Everything Everywhere All at Once, wrapped production on the comedy Ella McCay with director James L. Brooks and is expected to return for Freakier Friday.

The New York event highlighted the strong chemistry between the two actresses. They appeared confident and relaxed together, interacting with fans and media with ease. The combination of their talent, star power, and the gripping story of Scarpetta has already sparked anticipation for the series.
