‘Life Is Strange’ Adaptation Finds Its Chloe and Max for Prime Video Series
Amazon Prime Video has officially cast the two leads for its upcoming adaptation of the popular video game series “Life Is Strange.” Variety reports that Maisy Stella will play Chloe, and Tatum Grace Hopkins will star as Max. The series was first announced in September 2025.
The show will follow Max, a photography student who discovers she can rewind time after saving her childhood friend Chloe. Together, they investigate the mysterious disappearance of another student, uncovering secrets in their town that push them into a life-or-death situation.
Charlie Covell is serving as showrunner and executive producer for the series. Additional executive producers include Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson under the Story Kitchen banner. Production is being handled by Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap, and Amazon MGM Studios.
For Hopkins, this will be her television debut. She has previously appeared on stage, starring in Broadway productions such as “The Queen of Versailles” and “For the Girls.” She also acted in the short film “Meek,” which premiered at the Montclair Film Festival in 2024.
Stella is primarily known as a musician but has notable acting experience. She starred as Daphne Conrad in ABC’s “Nashville” for six seasons and appeared in films like “My Old Ass” with Aubrey Plaza, which earned her an Independent Spirit Award, and Maude Apatow’s “Poetic License.” Later this year, she is set to appear in “Flowervale Street” alongside Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor.
The casting comes as fans await the release of “Life Is Strange: Reunion,” the game that concludes Chloe and Max’s story, scheduled to launch on March 26 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Since the original game’s 2015 release, the franchise has grown to over 20 million players worldwide.
Several follow-ups, including “Life Is Strange: Before the Storm,” “Life Is Strange 2,” “True Colors,” and “Double Exposure,” have expanded the universe, all developed by Don’t Nod Entertainment and Deck Nine with Square Enix as publisher.
It’s exciting to see how the beloved game series will translate to television. With two talented leads in Stella and Hopkins, the show has the potential to capture both fans of the games and new viewers alike. What do you think about this casting for Chloe and Max?
