Kit Harington has been making waves since stepping away from his iconic role as Jon Snow on Game of Thrones, and his latest turn as Sir Henry Muck on HBO’s Industry proves he’s diving headfirst into morally complex characters.

Fans recently shared behind-the-scenes photos of Harington in boxer shorts from the set of Industry Season 4, giving a cheeky glimpse into the star’s off-screen life while his on-screen persona hits new lows.

In the Season 4 finale, Henry’s life unravels as Tender’s fraud comes to light. CFO Whitney Halberstram, played by Max Minghella, moves quickly to escape, leaving Henry struggling to maintain control.

Harington reflected on his character’s repeated failures: “I think he probably fails as a CEO, where he failed as an MP, that he’s so wrapped up in self that he’s not seeing the full picture.” His lack of perspective makes him vulnerable not just to Whitney, but also to his wife, Yasmin, portrayed by Marisa Abela.

Harington explained that Henry admires Whitney and aspires to be like him professionally. “He’s slightly hypnotized by him; he’s entranced by and also sees him as the person he kind of wants to be, business-wise — like he wants to be more like Whitney,” Harington said. But Henry’s ambitions don’t last, as he faces the consequences of his involvement in Tender’s scheme while on a plane intended to take Whitney and a co-conspirator to Lithuania.

One of the show’s most emotional moments comes when Yasmin confronts Henry, telling him she doesn’t love him anymore. Harington described filming the scene with Marisa Abela as a careful balancing act.

“They’re pretty close to throwing things at each other. It’s a toxic relationship. It was always going to be that… The more interesting choice was: What if the dregs of what love they did have for each other are still there?” He wanted the audience to see that, despite the toxicity, some tenderness remains between the two characters.

The scene also reveals Henry’s inability to truly understand those closest to him. When discussing children, Harington noted, “It’s so heartbreaking because you realize he’s not been listening to her. He’s not been seeing her for who she is. He’s been totally wrapped up in himself.” Even as Henry faces his lowest points, Harington says his character’s flaws run deep, shaped long ago, and make it unlikely he will ever fully break the cycle of self-destruction.

Reflecting on the show’s broader themes, Harington added, “He is trying to do good. He says, ‘I want to be a better person. I want to do good. Isn’t that what this is about?’ It’s just that his personality flaws are so fundamental and so entrenched that he will always do bad by trying to do good.”

Kit Harington’s portrayal of Henry Muck in Industry continues to showcase his range as an actor willing to tackle morally messy, complicated characters. Fans are excited to see where Henry’s story goes next, and the playful behind-the-scenes photos hint that Harington keeps a sense of humor about the drama off-camera as well.

Harington’s commitment to exploring the dark, flawed sides of characters like Henry is fascinating, and it’s refreshing to see him step far away from the heroic archetype of Jon Snow. How do you feel about Henry’s journey this season? Share your thoughts in the comments.
