The series, based on the iconic literary works of Laura Ingalls Wilder, is officially scheduled to debut on July 9. Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine expressed profound gratitude toward the production team, noting how much heart and labor went into bringing the 19th-century frontier to life.

This fresh adaptation is being positioned as a kaleidoscopic view of the American West, blending an epic survival tale with a heartwarming family drama. It joins a growing slate of “feel-good” content on the platform, anchoring a lineup that includes favorites like Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias as viewers increasingly seek out emotionally grounded narratives.
The series features a talented ensemble cast led by Alice Halsey in the central role of the strong-willed Laura Ingalls. She is joined by Skywalker Hughes as her older sister, Mary, while Luke Bracey and Crosby Fitzgerald take on the legendary roles of Pa and Ma Ingalls, respectively.
Alice Halsey, who first caught the industry’s attention in the miniseries Lessons in Chemistry, is coming off a productive run on the long-standing soap opera Days of Our Lives.
Her final airdate for that series is set for March 5, as she fully transitions into her role as the young frontier hero, a part that has already garnered significant buzz within the industry. Luke Bracey has also maintained a prolific schedule leading up to his portrayal of Charles Ingalls.

The production for Little House on the Prairie utilized the vast landscapes of Winnipeg, Canada, to recreate the rugged beauty of the 1800s.
