Sylvester Stallone, 79, recently showed he hasn’t lost his sense of humor or romance. The Hollywood legend surprised his wife, Jennifer Flavin, 57, with what looked like a spontaneous trip to Italy. Fans quickly realized it was a clever setup on a movie set in Georgia, where Stallone is filming the fourth season of his Paramount+ hit, Tulsa King.

The production team transformed a Georgia backlot into a European-style village with cobblestone streets, rustic shops, and weathered paths.

Dressed in a sharp blue striped suit, Stallone teased his wife, saying, “I told you I’m gonna take you on a long vacation in Italy.” Flavin laughed along with the playful stunt as Stallone admired the set. “They did an amazing job, didn’t they?” he remarked, before joking, “So, should we try and find some gelato?”

Tulsa King continues to draw viewers, with Stallone reprising his role as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, an exiled mob boss rebuilding his criminal empire in Oklahoma. The series is shooting across multiple Georgia locations, including Midtown Atlanta and Winder, which served as the backdrop for the faux-Italian scene.

Outside of television, Stallone has been busy with new projects. He recently announced John Rambo, a prequel exploring the early life of his iconic character before the events of First Blood. Noah Centineo will play the younger Rambo, while Stallone serves as executive producer. “Rambo has been part of my life for a very long time. Now we’re going back to where his story begins,” he said.

Stallone is also starring in The Epiphany, a crime thriller directed by William Eubank, where he plays a soon-to-retire Philadelphia detective teaming up with a younger cop and a former priest to track a serial killer.

Between Tulsa King, his reality show The Family Stallone, and multiple film projects, Stallone proves he still has energy and charm as he approaches eighty. His playful Italy stunt in Georgia shows he can balance humor, romance, and action like few actors in Hollywood can.

I think Stallone’s playful Italian trick is a perfect example of why he remains so beloved—he mixes wit, style, and genuine affection in a way few stars can. His upcoming Rambo prequel looks promising too. What do you think about Stallone’s projects and his Tulsa King performance? Share your thoughts in the comments.
