Elizabeth Hurley (60) Recreates Her Iconic Met Gala Look 27 Years Later in the Same Versace Dress
Elizabeth Hurley is proving that timeless style has no expiration date after choosing to revisit one of her most famous red-carpet looks. During a recent excursion to India, the 60-year-old actress and model donned the striking black Versace gown she originally debuted at the 1999 Met Gala.
The dress is renowned for its daring thigh-high slit, deep neckline, and a vibrant cluster of pink and orange beads centered on the bodice. To highlight the longevity of the garment, she shared a side-by-side comparison on Instagram featuring herself in the gown from both 1999 and now.
“Viva Versace! For this weekend’s adventure in India, I dug into my archives and unearthed one of my favourite pieces, which I last wore to the Met Gala in 1999,” she wrote in her caption. “27 years may have passed, but some loves never fade.”
The actress expressed her deep affection for the destination in a subsequent social media update. “India has been a pivotal part of my life for over 20 years and I cherish every moment in this magnificent country,” she shared.
“What a magical first night back in paradise, reuniting with some of my favorite people on the planet.” Her son, Damian Hurley, and her partner, Billy Ray Cyrus, both responded to the images with supportive messages.
Damian, who is also an actor and model, recently discussed his mother’s relationship during an interview with The Standard. He noted that he finds his mother’s partner to be a very kind person, stating that he is “a very sweet boyfriend who I adore.”
However, Damian also admitted that the constant attention surrounding his family’s private life can be taxing. He explained that he occasionally removes social media from his phone to protect his mental health from online speculation.
“Whenever I use my phone, it is now flooded with so much stuff about all of us, the second I turn it on, which I found very strange and upsetting,” he explained. “When I need to, I’m chronically offline. I delete Instagram for long chunks of time because it would be appalling to ever let that influence real life.”
The relationship between the actress and the country music star became public in a joint post on Easter 2025. The pair originally met while filming a holiday project in 2022, though they did not begin a romantic relationship until after the singer finalized his divorce from his third wife in 2024.
The singer is a father to six children, including singer Miley Cyrus, while Damian is the son of the late producer Steve Bing. Beyond her recent travels, Elizabeth Hurley remains a prominent force in both fashion and film.
