Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning stepped out together at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party and quickly became one of the most talked-about duos of the night.

The sisters arrived on March 15 and posed side by side, giving fans a rare joint appearance. Both have spent years in Hollywood, and their presence on the carpet showed how far they have come in their careers.

Elle chose a black gown from Givenchy. The dress had a strong shape with a bold bow detail on the side. She paired it with a necklace from Cartier and wore her hair pulled back in a clean style.

Dakota went with a black gown by Zuhair Murad. Her dress featured a deep neckline with detailed designs across the front. She styled her hair in loose waves and added a red lip to complete the look.

The event came at a busy time for both actresses. Elle has been active during award season thanks to her role in the film Sentimental Value. Speaking recently at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, she said, “I think I’m a big dreamer, which is good, but then I can kind of think into the future too much and spiral, so I need to, like, live in the moment.”

She is also preparing for a major role in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, where she will play Effie Trinket. The film is set to release later in 2026.

Dakota is also promoting new work. Her film The Sun Never Sets recently premiered at South by Southwest. In the movie, she plays a woman dealing with a complex relationship. She also worked behind the scenes as a producer. During promotion, she said, “Getting the opportunity to go to Alaska proved very special for me.”

Looking ahead, both sisters will appear together in The Nightingale. The film is based on the novel by Kristin Hannah and will show them playing sisters during World War II. It is directed by Michael Morris and is expected to be released in 2027.

Seeing them together like this shows how strong their careers are right now. They are doing different kinds of projects but still support each other. It also builds excitement for their upcoming film together. Some people may like their serious roles more, while others enjoy their bigger films. What do you think? Which type of movie do you prefer to see them in? Share your thoughts in the comments.
